Perfect for impatient people like me

This is a great, easy to follow and very informative book. With the lessons at the end of the chapters you can practice what you have just read and that makes it a definitely hands on experience.

I'm not normally much of one to read manuals, I prefer just to just jump in and start using things first and read the manual afterward. This is the perfect book for us impatient people because we can learn things right as we read them.

The explanations as to what and why make a lot of difference; rather than just saying "do this" he explains why you need to so it.

Informative and Helpful

I have done quite extensive research which book among several recently published popular books available will help me improve my photography skills as a photography enthusiast. It turn out to be a right book I needed. It is packed with informative and practical knowledge and skills I can learn to maximize the advanced features of new camera. With my fourth generation Nikon and this book, I can certainly impress many of my friends who have seen my pictures and were impressed with them in the past. The book will help me turn my snapshots on weddings, birthdays and anniversaries into great shots.

I was a bit taken aback by the fact that the author could have devoted more cover on the video side, an impressive D5300's main feature yet refinement of technique is required on focusing and noise reduction to overcome its drawbacks. In addition, there should be a bit more details on 11 Effects Modes, another unique features of D5300, like 'Selective Color'. I feel the book was little bit in a hurry to time with the introduction of the Nikon's new camera.

Do Not Pass This Book Up

Yes, I am related. Yes, I try to be unbiased. But I have enjoyed this book from the perspective of an older woman who (now understanding I will not live forever) wants to spend what I have left pursuing things I enjoy. My problem is I don't always recognize what those 'things' are or, if I do, which are the most important to me -- so much to do, so little time. That's where this book is invaluable. I want to be open to not only my passions but those which are lurking but not yet actualized. This book has made my journey as much fun as enriching. Enjoy!

Unique and inspiring book

This book, inspired by an engineering class, takes a creativity approach that shows its engineering roots. Rather than a "just believe you are creative" approach (like in some other books), this book offers actual techniques in a beautiful layout. In fact, the layout of the book even incorporates a "tool we've learned" section in the bottom right of pages, to help you keep track of the techniques taught. It's a unique book that left me feeling inspired and even more importantly left me with tools to use at work and in my own creative pursuits.

This author is very thorough and definitely knows what they're talking about. However, it did take me a while to understand certain things. After a while, I did pick it up quicker as the book was ending. However, this might have been me...Over than that, this book is great for someone who needs a brush up or someone who is trying to understand C#.

Easy To Learn

It's just amazing to learn new technologies and software programs. I've always wanted to pick up C programming as it's such a marketable course and it costs a lot of time and money to learn from a private school. So, it's great to be able to find a crash course within a book. That sure makes my job easier and the price is not steep either. There are some tips here about combining operators and doing loops, etc. You may well find it useful like in my case.

A must have reference

References of that sort are seldom found. Perhaps not really suited for direct design application, it however provides extremely diverse information and insight into the different technologies for making loudspeakers and ways other components in the audio path interact with them. The bass-reflex principles and passive baffle for example are explained quite precisely and concisely. Surprisingly though, I didn't see a mention of the semi-active baffle, where a short circuited loudspeaker is used as the secondary vibrating body. The chapter on headphones however is unique. I don't know of a better presentation in a book reference format, than this one.

Second Edition is more interesting

The chapter about headphones in the 2nd edition is very valuable. It makes you think why it has been removed from the 3rd edition. There are some computer codes for some calculations in the second edition also. On the other hand this is an updated version in many ways therefore it is still a great book in this area of acoustics.
